Potters Kiln Farm, Leicestershire

Planning permission has been granted for the demolition of existing equestrian buildings and the construction of new facilities.

Including storage barn, machinery store, courtyard stable block with tack rooms and offices, site office/administration building, indoor arena, and manège, together with associated parking, landscaping and the diversion of an existing public right of way.

Potters Kiln Farm has a long-established equestrian use operating as a livery yard. However, the site has evolved organically over time, resulting in a number of unsightly and dilapidated buildings. Significant investment is now required to modernise the facilities and enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the site.

The approved proposals will deliver a high-quality equestrian centre offering state-of-the-art facilities. The development will strengthen both Blaby District and Leicestershire’s reputation as a centre for equestrian sport and recreation, while also supporting rural employment and contributing to the local economy.

Smith Jenkins provided comprehensive planning consultancy services from initial appraisal and strategy advice through to the pre-application stage and the preparation and management of a full planning submission. The application received unanimous approval at Planning Committee. Smith Jenkins will continue to advise on the discharge of planning conditions and subsequent phases of development at the site.
