Old Willow Farm is located in the Green Belt and contained two existing buildings. Smith Jenkins submitted a planning application for the demolition of both existing buildings and the construction of a self-build dwelling and dog kennels.

Whilst the proposal was not inappropriate development in the Green Belt, the planning application submitted by Smith Jenkins included a thorough assessment of the impact of the proposal on the openness of the Green Belt and a comprehensive list of very special circumstances that would outweigh any degree of inappropriateness.

The approved development will deliver a high-quality self-build dwelling while also supporting rural employment and contributing to the local economy.
