Seven Acres Farm, Normandy

Working closely with the client, architects and technical consultants, we delivered a bespoke planning strategy that enabled the creation of four high‑quality, energy‑efficient self‑build homes arranged around a courtyard layout, forming a close‑knit, multi‑generational co‑living community. The scheme replaced dilapidated pig‑rearing structures with a sensitively designed development that reduced the built footprint, enhanced the openness of the Green Belt and delivered significant ecological improvements through new planting and increased green space. Officers agreed that the proposals represented a substantial improvement over the fall‑back position and did not constitute inappropriate development. The project has since attracted national attention, including coverage in the Sunday Times, highlighting how a derelict farm was transformed into a thriving shared community.
