Emily graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Planning Studies with Environmental Design and Conservation and subsequently in 2006 with a Masters in Spatial Planning. She has been a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) since 2008.
Emily’s planning experience has been gained solely in private practice and before joining Smith Jenkins in 2019, Emily held posts in planning consultancies based in Oxford and Bedford. Throughout her career, Emily has been involved in planning work covering an extensive range of sectors including residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and education in both urban and rural areas. Her current work is wide ranging and encompasses site promotion, site appraisals, pre-application submissions, public engagement, planning applications, appeals and neighbourhood plan preparation. She specialises in education and affordable housing schemes and also plays a key role in the management and mentoring of junior staff.
Emily has considerable experience providing detailed and pragmatic planning advice to existing and new clients and working with multi-disciplinary teams with a strong ability to manage projects from conception through to successful completion.
Outside of work Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends and running.
