Jennifer established Smith Jenkins in 2012 after working at Hepher Dixon and Savills.
She has worked on a wide variety of schemes from individual houses to large-scale complex projects. She regularly manages teams of consultants from a variety of disciplines to achieve positive outcomes for her clients. She also regularly works ‘in house’ for operating companies, other planning consultants and firms of architects to provide planning support within their businesses. She approaches all schemes, regardless of their size, with the same positive approach, and consistently gives honest advice.
Jennifer acts in a variety of sectors, including: residential, commercial, employment, mixed use development and strategic site promotion.

Nick Jenkins - BSc(Hons) DipSurv MRICSDirector
Nick Jenkins has previously worked for Hepher Dixon, Savills and Turley Associates in Milton Keynes and London.
During this time he has led teams of planners dealing with complex planning projects and built up excellent contacts with a number of planning authorities as well as property professionals in all fields.
He acts on behalf of a variety of clients managing projects through the planning process, including: residential, employment, retail, leisure, hotels, mixed use development, and large scale strategic site promotion. A particular speciality is hotel development within London and nationwide.

Samuel Dix - MA(Hons) MSc MRTPIPrincipal Planner
Sam joined Smith Jenkins after five years in the public sector, most recently with Milton Keynes Council where he worked in the policy team. Prior to this he started his career at Buckingham Town Council working in Neighbourhood Planning before moving to Bucks County Council as a strategic planner.
During this time he has gained experience in all aspects of site appraisal and Local Plan promotion. He has advised developers, Councillors and communities on technical issues such as affordable housing and five-year housing land supply. He has particular expertise in residential development and neighbourhood planning, having represented Councils at appeals and hearings for each.
Sam now works with clients in various sectors, combining technical knowledge with an understanding of how planning operates within local government.

Jennie Harris - BA (Hons) MScPrincipal Planner
Jennie joined the team at Smith Jenkins in 2017 with over 13 years experience in the public sector. She began working for Milton Keynes Council and most recently has worked in the Development Management Team at Aylesbury Vale District Council as a Senior Planning Officer. She has extensive experience of dealing with a range of applications including residential and commercial development, both in urban and rural areas. She has provided advice to developers, Councillors and members of the public on formal and informal proposals, and developed relationships with key stakeholders. Jennie has represented the Council at appeals and informal hearings and also has experience of negotiating legal agreements on major development proposals.

Helen Lowe - BSc(Hons) MSc MRTPI FRGSAssociate
Helen Lowe has 14 years development management experience gained working for a number of Councils across the South Midlands and South East, including Milton Keynes Council and Horsham District Council.
Her experience of development management includes managing significant and complex schemes for both residential and commercial developments; advising developers, project teams, Councillors and individuals on a range of technical planning matters.
Helen provides a positive approach and drive for problem solving.
