Listed Building Consent for alterations to a Grade II listed townhouse to achieve sympathetic improvements to the family home. Advised through the purchase of the building to the achievement of Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission.
Working for a private homeowner, we were initially brought onto the project to undertake due diligence work for our client when they were considering purchasing the property. We identified a number of works that had previously been undertaken without consent, and were able to advise our client on the risks of this and the remediation works that would be needed if they bought the property. Once they had purchased the building, we continued to provide robust heritage advice through the development of a scheme which involved reversing the identified unconsented works, as well as other alterations to improve the use of the space as a family home. We led liaison with Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Officers through the pre-application and application process, and were able to achieve Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission for the works.
