Listed Building Consent for alterations to a Grade II listed building to achieve sympathetic improvements to the family home. Working from point of purchase to the discharge of Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission conditions.
Working for a private homeowner, we were brought onto the project at the point of our client’s purchase of a Grade II listed property, to advise them on the potential for works to the building to bring it in line with their aspirations for their new home. This involved the undertaking of thorough desk-and archive-based research to fully understand the history and development of the building, which allowed us to provide clear and robust advice. We continued to advise on the developing proposals, which involved the removal of a redundant staircase and alterations to the rear elevation, and led liaison with Richmond Council Officers through a collaborative and beneficial pre-application process. We successfully achieved Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission for our client, and subsequently produced a Level 3 Building Record of the staircase due to be removed as part of a condition for the Listed Building Consent.
