Croydon to Remove Office to Residential PD Rights

The most recent London Borough to announce their intention to remove permitted development rights for office to residential conversions is Croydon. Royal Borough of Kingston – Proposed Article 4 Direction to remove office to residential PD rights

The Council is seeking to withdraw permitted development rights for change of use from office to residential use in certain specified areas within the Borough. The Council is seeking views on this proposal before considering whether to formally introduce the change later this year.  The consultation closes on 7 November 2014. Lambeth CIL comes into effect 1 October 2014

Nick Jenkins appeared at the Lambeth CIL Examination on behalf of Travelodge.  Following his presentation of evidence, the hotel CIL charge has been reduced from £250 p/sqm to £100 p/sqm in Zone A Waterloo and Vauxhall and reduced from £100 p/sqm in Zones B and C to a Nil rate.
